Annie Rentals

The Elgin Opera House is performing "Annie Get Your Gun" in a couple of weeks.

Nanette came over & borrowed several items for the show.

I get a tax write off. I will also get my name in the program for helping with costumes.

I was also promised photos of the characters in the costumes I provided to put on my blog.

I get four free tickets.

The show sounds fun. Can't wait to see it!

Vintage Clothing Store

I trade old clothes for old clothes. Go figure.

People give me clothing and some I can use & some I trade. I trade to a dealer in SLC, UT.

He gives me credit or cash. I always take the credit.

For instance last week I had retail $300 for the items I took to him. I could have $150 credit or $100 cash. I got the credit!

I traded for 3 white pillbox hats with netting (a costume renter needs a hat for a wedding and I thought these might work), a muslin pirate shirt with lace on the neck line and sleeves, sz XL, a grey kimono jacket, a white flower lace long dressing gown (for a Titanic over jacket costume) and a $19 credit!

The owner said hats are selling like crazy after the "wedding". He asked what show I was doing. I replied 'Titanic". EOU is doing the musical in 2012 so I figured I would have more Titanic rentals.

Chain mail hat

Just bought this chain-mail hat at the neighbor's yard sale.

It comes with a very dangerous ball and chain.

Duck Costume

Made a yellow duck costume for the river float at Elgin.

Will wait to see if any photos made it into the paper.

I made the costume out of light weight flannel with a 50% off coupon from Joann's.

I used 2 small yellow feather boas around the hood and the legs and a large feather boa on the arms.

The bill and shoe covers were made of orange foam.

The orange socks are soccer socks.

School Rentals

Had 3 calls for elementary age rentals this week!

I have rented costumes for students for Elementary school reports, Folk Tales, Musicals & Historical.
